I want to thank all of my BWFO networkers for their phone calls to Congressman Capuano. I talked to him this morning and he assured me his being on the fence had nothing to do with his support of this President or HCR but his concern about provisions that affected states with reforms in place like ours.
He apologized for not articulating that better, and it was calls from BWFO members that reminded him communication was key, and he will keep that in mind in the future.
I told him our endorsement came with our investment in him, and we are always watching, he welcomed our continued commitment.
We here in MA are pleased with this first step in HCR and happy that the dream and and political pursuit of our dear "Uncle Teddy" has become a reality with the help of most of our delegation. Although I haven't checked to see how Lynch ultimately voted he made it clear he was a no, well that is disappointing but today along with all of you I am going to celebrate this victory!
Then figure out which Senators need some nudging and get to those phone calls today in advance of the Senate action tomorrow.

If he achieves nothing else, he goes down in history as the president who finally brought health-care reform to the United States of America. To millions, he’s a superhero. As for the reviled House speaker whose name can’t be uttered without some “Botox” joke? From now on, call Nancy Pelosi, mother of five and grandmother of dozens, Ms. Botox of Steel. “We will go through the gate. If the gate is closed, we will go over the fence. If the fence is too high, we will pole vault in. If that doesn’t work, we will parachute in. But we are going to get health-care reform passed.” She made this announcement nine days after Scott “41” Brown beat Martha Coakley, reducing much of Obamafied America to whimpering, petrified jello. Ms. Botox of Steel? She just steamrolled all comers while snapping her very high heels together, just, you know, to rub it in. Republicans now claim Democrats will get slaughtered in November. Maybe. But hotshot Republican strategist David Frum, George W. Bush’s former speechwriter, yesterday called health care’s passage the GOP’s “most crushing legislative defeat since the 1960s. ... It’s hard to exaggerate the magnitude of the disaster.” Why? Because so many look so nutty claiming this bill - far more moderate than radical - is some Soviet, Socialist, Fidel Castro-like plot. Finally, how terribly satisfying to watch 59,000 American Catholic nuns, long-suffering and little heralded, politically outmaneuver the morally challenged, pedophile-coddling American Catholic bishops. “Despite false claims to the contrary, the Senate bill will not provide taxpayer funding for elective abortions,” the nuns’ letter correctly proclaimed. On the contrary, they argued it will rescue the millions of uninsured and dying they minister to - plus poor pregnant women. This, they wrote, “is the real pro-life stance.” Of course nuns, being women, think more of women than do bishops, who prefer us in the back of the bus. And as everyone knows, nuns also think more of children, particularly altar boys.
